IRS "TAX REBATE" SCAM E-MAIL
I received this e-mail on April 18 and could tell it was a fake right away.
First, the IRS does not send out e-mails to taxpayers, and besides that,
when you click to go to the next page none of the links for the different
IRS pages work.

It's funny that the e-mail states you must give them your tax rebate
amount. Only the IRS figures out how much you will receive and as long as
you filed a tax return for 2007, and if you qualify, the IRS will
automatically send out your refund in the mail or direct deposit.

Also, the e-mail states that you must respond before April 18 or your
rebate will be delayed. Well, I received this email on April 18. The IRS
has already determined what day your refund will be direct deposited or
sent by mail.

Here is the real IRS website page with the
details of the Economic Stimulus Tax Rebates.
