First Plus Platinum and First Universal Platinum credit card are the same.
This is a Fake credit card good only at their own website!
Check what they say on their Website:

your $7,500 Credit Line you can purchase many of the things you have always wanted.

short amount of time. Take advantage of this great offer now, APPROVAL IS
GUARANTEED! What are you waiting for?
No Credit Checks and No Deposit
No Employment Verification
Bankruptcy? No Problem!
Bad Credit? No Credit? No Problem!
Check what some of the fine print says:
You will be issued an account with a $5,000 - $10,000 line of credit. First year APR is 0%,
every year thereafter 7.9% APR. Membership fee $39.95 per MONTH automatically
deducted from your bank account or credit card (I guess they assume you might have a
real credit card.)
You have a 7 day risk free trial (good luck trying to get a hold of them in this amount of
time.)
#10. CREDIT BUREAU ACCESS: First Plus Platinum will not access your personal credit
report as part of the account activation process to establishing your initial credit Account.
First Plus Platinum does reserve the right to access Your personal credit report.
What did that just say? They won't access your personal credit report but they reserve
the right to access your personal credit report?
It gets even better. If you go to the website (www.firstplusplatinumclub.com) to see what
you can buy or what the prices are like, you won't be able to use the website. You have to
pay first and receive your login and password information before checking out prices and
the available merchandise.
If you click on the FAQ you will also find out that this credit card does not provide any
benefit to helping your credit with the credit bureaus. It also states that many of the
purchases also require a 35% down payment, even though they have a big banner to
direct you to the no money down section. Gee, I wonder what kind of crap is in that
section.
I would like to welcome First Plus Platinum to my list of companies that Belong Below.
May your company draw many complaints and the eyes of the FTC before you rip off
another consumer.
UPDATE June , 2008: A visitor has pointed out that number 10 in the fine print has been
changed in their terms and conditions. I checked and they now claim that they will report
your payment history to a credit bureau called PRBC, not the 3 major credit bureaus.
Have you ever heard of PRBC? I haven't either so no, it won't help your credit rating or
FICO score.
The monthly membership fee is still $39.95 which is deducted automatically every month
from your bank account or other credit card. Pretty stiff fee if you ask me.
I still get complaints of unauthorized charges from their company. It's easy to do since
they have your personal information and probably play the odds and realize that some
customers won't notice the charge, and after all, the company is from Las Vegas (hint,
hint.)
Always perform due diligence on any company by searching the Internet for information
and by reading the terms and conditions, the FAQ's and all the small print usually located
at the bottom of website pages.
Here is just one of the e-mail's I have received about the First Plus Platinum Card.
comments = First Plus Platinum Card. Yeah, I applied, looked at their
stuff, and cancelled in all about 5 minutes. I have 7 days to cancel or
they'll deduct the $39.95. It was laughable. You should have seen their
lame merchandise. The women clothing was about 10 items that looked
like something my grandmother would wear. Also no designer labels and each
shirt was about $50. I looked at their 0 money down stuff and you know
what was on there? Perfume samples, lol, yeah small bottles for $4.95
and that was IT. NOTHING else was 0 money down. I looked at a cool
Motorola cell phone, $288 down payment and then you could use the $61
credit line, whoo hooo! So basically you're paying 75-90% down for
everything and I mean EVERYTHING except for their little bottles of lame
perfume. What a rip off. Fingerhut was a much better concept back in the day.
You paid very little if anything down and made regular small credit
card payments. This site is total crap. Can you believe they had laptops (refurbished) and a
digital camera (refurbished) lol. Do they
pick up stuff on side of the road or what?
Have a great day and thank you so much for protecting consumers.
Thank you for the e-mail sharing your experience and warning all the consumers about
this rip off company.
Should you wind up already paying them the fee and you want to cancel, I've heard from
many readers that it's impossible to get a hold of them to cancel. If this is the case with
you, my only advice is to close your banking account then open a new account so they
can't charge you that automatic monthly fee anymore.
